Watch Your Backgrounds

When you're taking pictures, remember to look at the background, not only your subject. I saw this picture recently, used in a real ad, of a young couple in Italy & I wondered why in the world it was selected. I'm sure that most of you would have asked the couple to move over a little to create a more pleasing background. You never want to place your subjects in front of something that appears to be growing out of their heads. So, remember to look up, look down, look all around, and then take your picture.

This picture of the man & the boy fishing was composed so that none of the trees were growing out of anyone's head. By the way, I would be glad to license this photo for an ad. Any ad execs out there? :)
